Testimonials

My oldest son began taking saxophone lessons with Mike and progressed quickly. They had a great repertoire working together! When my next son began playing clarinet it was no question - Mike was there to help. Both of my kids tried out and made the University of Arizona Outreach Honor Band in their first eligible year - they couldn’t have done it without Mike. When my boys started branching out into composition and improvisation, Mike was there to help with music theory and lots of hands on advice and mentoring. It was no question who would help when my third son began playing an instrument.

You won’t find a more dedicated, passionate teacher than Mike. It’s clear from the moment you meet him that he loves music and will do everything to help and encourage you or your child to do their best.

I have taken lessons from Mike for the past 5 years. He has guided me through all aspects of Saxophone playing, from the very basics to Jazz improvisation. What Mike does best is analyze what you are struggling with and make recommendations for your practice time. And, with practice, you find that you have attained a new level of proficiency.

Our two daughters take saxophone lessons with Mike. He tailors their lessons to their interests - the older daughter is classical music/technique focused, the younger just starting out and willing to try anything. He is helping the older daughter compose/transcribe her own music and teaching the younger daughter to improve (she’s only 11 years old!) - all while teaching them proper technique. We highly recommend Mike!
